Also, you are bound to meet a lot of friendly people here who have already been through the same thing as you in terms of marketing.
One great place for affiliate marketing or even for vendors is the Warrior Forum. I suggest before you do your big product launch to search through the forums and ask other people what they have done to convert products into sales. There are many people willing to help you.
